Dr. Reiner Nolden, born in 1949, from the region of Düren (between Aix-la-Chapelle and Cologne), attended school at the Stiftisches Gymnasium in Düren. He studied English and History from summer 1969 in the Technical University of Aix-la-Chapelle including two terms at University College Galway/Ireland. After his state-exam in 1974 he was named Junior Lecturer in Medieval History and after presenting a Ph.D. thesis in 1976 he taught as Lecturer in the same field until 1980. From 1980 to 1982 training as an archivist in Münster and the German archive-school in Marburg. Since summer 1982 he has been working as an archivist in the municipal archives in Trier, at the moment as director of the archives and the deputy director of the municipal library. Numerous publications on old monasteries (St Maximin, Prüm, Echternach), the History of the Jews of Trier, inventory of the archives and studies on the manuscripts of the library. |
